Casepath Legal is on the roadmap for 2027 — matter management, conflict checks, deadline tracking, client deliverable workflow. We will not be building trust accounting. AJS does that, and they do it well. We'll be the firm-wide layer that AJS doesn't try to be.
Trust account management is not optional for SA legal practice. The Legal Practice Council audits trust accounts. A breach exposes the firm's fidelity-fund cover. Building a trust ledger to LPC compliance standards is a significant engineering effort — and one we'd want to get exactly right.
Until we have that, we'd be a secondary tool for legal firms. AJS would still be the system of record. We don't think that's good enough yet.
So we're sequencing: investigations + audit + compliance first (where we have a defensible position today). Legal in 2027 — when our customer base, our DPA, and our trust-accounting plan are all properly in place.
